KUALA LUMPUR, July 28 (Bernama) -- Under the shadow of pressing regional and international issues, Asean foreign ministers today concluded their weeklong annual talks here guided by the regional grouping's ultimate objective of becoming a more central part of everyday life for all Southeast Asians.

 
When ASEAN was established, trade among the Member Countries was insignificant. In the ensuing decades, ASEAN cooperation has resulted in escalating regional integration. Today, ASEAN economic cooperation covers trade, investment, industry, services, finance, agriculture, forestry, energy, transportation and communication, intellectual property, SMEs and tourism.
